Close to Home: Make a commitment to Latinos at Sonoma State

ABOUT SAMANTHA
I grew up in Rohnert Park's A section and graduated from the City's K-12 system. Currently I work as a youth advocate and I am a full-time student at Dominican University of California.
If I had to give a one word answer as to why I am running for office it would be Representation. Like most District 1 residents, I am of Latin decent and growing up as a young bilingual, first-generation Latina I never felt represented in City government. I hope that my campaign can inspire young people, especially those of color, to elevate their voices. It will take all of us to Build Communidad."
This November I encourage all of Rohnert Park to get out and vote! One of my top priorities is getting more young adults involved with City government. It is critical for the growth and sustainability of our City that young people get involved!
In the last few months I have had the honor of serving as the Vice Mayor of Rohnert Park and as the District 1 representative.
If chosen to continue building on this important work I would like to address the infrastructure and beautification of District 1 and the homeless problem that is impacting our City at large.
